I gotta stop looking for Ayrton Senna stuff on eBay, this one hit right on the feels... I grew up with these comics, and the associated toys and sticker albums. I had this first issue too, and the #0 issue that came with it, now I'm wondering if any of them survived in my parents' store room.

It must be cool to be a national hero. I feel like the US is so over saturated with "role models", so many athletes have their own clothing brands, their own shoes (I have a pair of Carmelo Anthony's shoes), rappers have their own brands, and there are so many different ones that there's no one person we can all rally around.

Very true... Not to mention that virtually all of the licensed Senna merchandise is sold to support the Ayrton Senna Institute, one of the most important educational charities in Brazil. That Kyosho McLaren I posted the other day? Proceedings go to the ASI. Same for those comics, and the toys and the clothes, that's really admirable IMO...

ah yes, I grew up with some Senna merchandise too, I remember reading some of those comics.
